It’s a chance to tell your story, in your words, at any age.
There may be people who could tell the building blocks of your story, but no one else can share how it felt and what it meant. STORY is a chance to explore the. . . well. . . stories, dreams and meaning of your life, by sitting down with national award-winning documentarians and capturing your life as you lived it.
It will be an extensive interview in a comfortable setting. All of the recordings will be yours to use as you wish - to underscore meaning, to record a path to success, to heal, connect generations, to send love.
You would be in charge of the direction of the interview. It could be purely personal, all business, or a little bit of both. Talk about what life has taught you, something you’d like to pass on or specific messaging to loved ones. It could even spark your inner author to write your autobiography.
Out of that interview, a condensed video could be edited with an option to include meaningful photos from your life. All of the raw material will be sent to you on a hard drive and a Vimeo Showcase link to download, share and archive however you wish.
There is also an option to do a professionally bound transcription of the unedited interview.

Joan Steffend

Joan has interviewed thousands of people over the course of her career in the media and has never had a subject come back to her saying they were misunderstood. A person’s story is a particular passion of hers. Her goal is to understand people and for people to understand themselves and their worth. Talking with her is easy.
Joan is a published author who has worked as a television news anchor, a TV host on an internationally-broadcast HGTV show, and she has won both a national Emmy for storytelling and the Grand Award from the New York International Film Festival.
Joe Brandmeier
PRODUCER/DIRECTOR
Joe is a passionate, creative and innovative producer, director and curious storyteller. He has extensive experience collaborating with internationally recognized artists and companies across diverse cultures; Prince, U2, Best Buy, NBC, Wyclef Jean, PBS, United Healthcare and more.

Joe’s documentary work has been screened at film festivals around the world and won numerous awards including Best Documentary at TCFF for I Do? and a midwest Emmy for small town ROBOT (both are on Amazon Prime).
Jordan Brandmeier
COORDINATING PRODUCER
Jordan is an extraordinary combination of creativity, compassion and organization.

She literally grew up on set and turned that experience into a career in television production - working for Committee Films and Magnetic Productions as an associate producer. She has worked on shows for PBS, HGTV, Bravo, OWN, History Channel, Nickelodeon and more - ultimately serving as the supervising producer for ABC’s “In An Instant.”

Her even bigger accomplishment now is making sure her two children are well-loved and supported to be the best humans they can be.
